Howard St. parking lot to close Monday

CUMBERLAND — Beginning Monday, the Howard Street parking lot will be closed to begin preliminary work to rehabilitate the Interstate 68 Crosstown Bridge, according to the city of Cumberland.

The lot will be closed for approximately three months.

The work is part of SHA’s two-year, $14 million project that includes repairs, painting and other improvements to the Crosstown Bridge and the state Route 51 bridge over CSX Railroad and Canal Parkway.

An informational workshop about the project will be held Feb. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allegany Museum.
