Hershman ends career with Garrett court

— OAKLAND — Sandra Sue Hershman, county clerk of the district court for Garrett County, retired recently after 40 years of service to the district court.

She began her career with district court in July 1972 and served all 40 years in Garrett County, where she worked as a bailiff; cashier; civil, courtroom, criminal and traffic clerk; commissioner, and in July of 1999 was appointed as the county clerk.

A retirement celebration was held on at the Sante Fe Grill in McHenry with the Judge Leonard  Eiswert as master of ceremonies.   Hershman received a District Court Certificate signed by Chief Judge Ben Clyburn as well as citations from the State House of Delegates, State Senate and a proclamation signed by Gov. Martin O’Malley.  Her co-workers, family and friends presented her with a watch and gift certificates.
