— Lt. Michael Fluharty, commander of the Maryland State Police Cumberland barrack, presents a statue to Deborah Landaker during a ceremony Thursday to mark her retirement from her administrative position at the barrack. Landaker, who will retire Wednesday after 33 1/2 years of service, began her career in 1979. She served under 18 different barrack commanders. “It is rare during these times to have such a dedicated person to one agency,” Fluharty said of her service. “Mrs. Landaker is a beloved and meticulous employee that will be missed by those who have served with her,” he said. She plans to spend her retirement time enjoying family and friends.
