Local soccer players following World Cup

FROSTBURG — Fort Hill High School junior Ty Lawson (left) and Mountain Ridge High School senior Hunter Africa, members of the Allegany Soccer Alliance U18 team, practice at the Paris Glendening Recreation Complex in Frostburg Wednesday evening.

The players have been following the 2014 World Cup, and according to Africa, Team USA is doing well and has a "good chance of winning Thursday if they can stop falling apart at the last minute."

The next ASA tournament is the Lititz Summer Showcase, scheduled for July 26-27 in Lititz, Pa.
