Rewards offered for return of heirlooms

— CUMBERLAND — Cash rewards totaling several thousand dollars are being offered for information leading to the recovery of family heirlooms that were stolen during a recent burglary in the 700 block of Washington Street.

The burglary occurred when access to the residence was made through a rear door, according to Cumberland Police who continue to investigate the breaking and entering and theft case.

Items stolen included a Kirk Stieff flowered silver punch bowl with 12 punch cups and a silver matching tray, according to a member of the victim’s family.

Also stolen was an antique tea set that included a teapot and creamer and sugar set.

The victim’s family said that no questions will be asked concerning the theft of the items.

“These items have been in our family for many, many years and we just want to get them back. The rewards that are being offered are more than what anyone could get for these stolen items that mean so much to our family,” said a member of the victim’s family.

Anyone that can provide information in the case may contact the Allegany and Mineral County Crime Solvers at 301-722-4300.

Callers may remain anonymous and do not have to appear in court.
