CUMBERLAND — Amy D. Bosley has been sworn in as the new administrative clerk for district court in District 12, Allegany and Garrett counties.
Bosley was appointed by Chief Judge of the District Court of Maryland Ben Clyburn. She succeeds Kathy Stafford, who will retire at the end of the year after 37½ years of service.
Bosley began her career with the Maryland Judiciary in May 2001 as a civil clerk at the Circuit Court for Allegany County.
In June 2004, she transferred to District Court for Garrett County and worked as a criminal/traffic clerk, courtroom clerk and later held the lead courtroom clerk position.
She was appointed to county clerk Jan. 9, following the retirement of Sue Hershman.
Bosley resides in Friendsville with her husband, Steve, and their children, Jacob, Tristen, Hannah and Luke. She is a graduate of Allegany High School, Garrett College, University of Maryland University College, the Court Professional Certificate program and the Court Supervisors and Managers Certificate program. She will complete her master’s degree in criminal justice management in May.
Bosley is the daughter of Dan and Bonnie Hoyle, Cumberland.
In her new position, Bosley will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation and administration of district court in Allegany and Garrett counties.
