KEYSER, W.Va. — A fundraiser set up by family friend Deanna Ludwick to help the Simpson family who lost everything in a fire Friday had garnered $2,120 of the $3,000 goal as of Friday afternoon. The fundraiser will help out with the essentials for the family of five until they hear from the insurance company, according to Ludwick.
“They lost everything and we knew they would be focused on taking care of insurance matters. We wanted to get things moving to help them out quickly,” said Ludwick.
The money from the GoFundMe fundraiser, which will continue until the goal is met, will go directly to the Simpson family to help cover things like hotel expenses, food and clothing.
“People should donate to help support a family who always gives back to their community,” said Ludwick.
Other monetary donations will be accepted at Keyser Primary School, where the Simpson children attend school, according to Ludwick. Other donations can be dropped off at Dr. William Ludwick’s dental office and Radio Shack.
