Mineral Development Authority selects Kevin Clark as new director

KEYSER, W.Va. — Kevin Clark was recently named the new director of the Mineral County Development Authority by an ad hoc search committee. Clark, who will begin work March 15, replaces Mona Ridder, who retired effective Jan. 1.

“We felt from the beginning that he was a very viable candidate,” said Terry Liller, an authority member who was part of the search committee. “He is a good fit for the job. He lives in the county, is young and has a passion for the area.”

Clark was chosen from 19 candidates. The field was narrowed to five, all of whom were interviewed.

Clark has a business-related degree from Potomac State College and is part owner of Subway in Fort Ashby, according to Liller.

He is owner of Clark Construction of Keyser and is a manager/partner of Whisner Construction in New Creek.

Clark will be introduced at the March 18 authority meeting. The agenda for the meeting includes handbook changes, strategic plan process, Fort Ashby Industrial Park sales, nominating committee, grant award for marketing industrial park and economic development and education partnership.

The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. in the office located at 87 N. Main St.
