CUMBERLAND — Bidding will begin Sunday when the Cumberland Times-News launches its first-ever Bid2Buy auction.
Twenty vendors are offering 138 merchandise offerings for auction. The total retail value of the merchandise is $42,500.
Lance Lewis, advertising director for the newspaper, said the bidding will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday. However, the auction site is already online at the Times-News website, http://www.times-news.com.
Anyone interested in participating in the auction may go to the website before Sunday to see the items to be auctioned. Click on the Bid2Buy logo, located above the home page news photo, to see the auction offerings.
An auction catalog listing all the merchandise and rules and procedures for the auction will be included in the Sunday edition of the Times-News. Additional copies of the catalog will be available for sale in the newspaper’s circulation department at 19 Baltimore St.
“We are offering some really nice merchandise. I think people will enjoy participating in Bid2Buy. It’s a concept we’ve never tried at the Times-News and we are excited to launch the auction this Sunday,” Lewis said.
