— Members of the GO 106/WFRB radio team move Mountain Thunder, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s steam engine, along the tracks Saturday in downtown Cumberland. Eleven teams consisting of 20 people took turns in the annual Allegany County Train Pull for Charities, a combined effort of law enforcement agencies, businesses and the community. Participants see how fast and far they can pull the locomotive, which organizers say weighs 500,000 pounds. Proceeds benefit local organizations, including Allegany County Special Olympics, The Children’s League, Friends Aware and the Ali Ghan Shrine Transportation Unit.
