Independents, others must ask for ballot

For the Cumberland Times-News

KEYSER, W.Va. - Members of the Independent, Green, Libertarian or other parties, or those with no party affiliation, must ask for the party ballot of their choice when they go to the polls to vote in the West Virginia primary election May 13.

According to Mineral County Clerk Lauren Ellifritz, the voter must ask for a ballot; poll workers cannot offer either a Republican or Democrat ballot to the voter.

Members of the Mountain Party may only vote on the nonpartisan ballot for the school bond issue.
