Milburn, Allegany mow down Moorefield

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Logan Milburn ran for two touchdowns and threw one as Allegany rolled past Moorefield, 33-6, in their freshman football Monday evening.

Milburn’s two rushing scores came in the first quarter, on five- nine-yard runs. Jacob VanMeter hit Craig Offutt for the conversion after the second one to make it 14-0. Khristian Robinette ended the first quarter with a 32-yard touchdown run, and Ryan Miller’s kick made it 21-0.

VanMeter completed a 70-yard pass to Shawn Rhodes for a second-quarter touchdown, and Offutt completed Allegany’s scoring by hauling in a 30-yard pass from Milburn.

VanMeter completed 4 of 5 passes for 125 yards. Milburn finished with 89 rushing yards and Robinette had 69. Rhodes caught two passes for 87 yards. Milburn, Offutt and Dylan Clark stood out defensively for the Campers (2-0), who host Northern on Monday at 7 p.m.

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Carter Houdersheldt accounted for two touchdowns to lead Frankfort, 14-6 over Mountain Ridge at Frankfort Monday.

The Miners led 6-0 after one.

Houdersheldt hooked up with Trenton Morgan from 15 yards out to make it 7-6.

Houdersheldt added a two-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put the Falcons 14-6.

A.J. Christ led the Falcons with nine tackles on defense and Tyler Ford added five.

Frankfort (2-0) goes to Spring Mills on Monday. Mountain Ridge (0-1) plays at Keyser on Thursday, September 26.
