Alco storms by Keyser

— CUMBERLAND — Darian King scored four touchdowns and Carson Imes threw for two and ran for another as Allegany overpowered Keyser 55-8 in junior varsity football Monday at Greenway Avenue Stadium.

King scored on a 15-yard run and a 63-yard pass from Imes in the first quarter, and had short TD runs in the second and fourth quarters for the Campers, who were on top 22-0 after the first period and 36-8 at the half.

Tyler Eirich had a seven-yard touchdown run and Jordan Patterson a three-yard run in the second quarter. Imes tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Darick Kerns and scored on a one-yard sneak in the second half.

Imes finished 7 for 8 passing for 155 yards. The Campers piled up 263 yards rushing, with King leading the way with 86.

Patterson and Chase DeWitt excelled on the Allegany defense.

Ryan Kunis ran for a touchdown for Keyser.

Allegany will host Mountain Ridge and Keyser will visit Frankfort on Monday.

NEW PARIS, Pa. — Colby Hillegas scored on the ground, through the air and on defense to lead Chestnut Ridge over Fort Hill.

Jay Grubb scored on a one-yard plunge in the first quarter to give the Lions the early lead. On the ensuing Sentinel possession, Hillegas took an interception 60 yards to make it 12-0.

Fort Hill cut it to 12-7 before halftime when Ethan York caught a 21-yard pass from Lennon Squires, with Austin Farrell kicking the conversion.

Brayden Brown’s two-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Fort Hill a 14-12 lead, but Hillegas, with a five-yard run, put the Lions back on top 18-14.

Squires then threw his second touchdown pass, a 52-yard bomb to Jordan Warner, to put the Sentinels on top once more, 21-18 ,with 1:23 remaining.

Fort Hill had Chestnut Ridge on the ropes but the Lions converted a fourth-and-10 with 45 seconds to go, and gained 35 yards on a third-and-10 to get to the seven-yard line. Hillegas caught a touchdown pass from Grubb with 13 seconds left for the game winner.

Warner had an interception and Kasey Sullivan recovered a fumble on defense for the Sentinels.

Fort Hill (0-2) plays at Southern on Monday at 7 p.m.
