FSU’s Arrington named to All-American First Team

FROSTBURG — For the second consecutive year, Frostburg State University offensive lineman Darius Arrington has been named to the USA College Football Division III Preseason All-American First Team, announced Friday morning.

A three-year starter, Arrington heads into his senior season having started 28 of 30 games over his career, including 25 of the last 26. A two-time First Team All-Empire 8 honoree, Arrington helped the Bobcats to the league’s fourth best rushing attack (153.9 yards per game) in 2012.

Arrington is one of four returning starters on the offensive line for Frostburg and sixth-year head coach Tom Rogish. As a whole, FSU returns eight starters on both offense and defense as it heads into its third year in the Empire 8 Athletic Conference.

Last season the Bobcats finished 3-7 overall and 1-6 in the conference. FSU opens the 2013 season on Saturday, Sept. 7, with a 7 p.m. kickoff at Geneva (Pa.).
