Chandler, Raley run FH over Mountain Ridge, 34-18

— CUMBERLAND — Yadi Chandler and Quade Raley scored two touchdowns apiece and both ran for more than 100 yards in leading Fort Hill past Mountain Ridge, 34-18, in junior varsity football action at Greenway Avenue Stadium.

Raley finished with 107 yards and scored on runs of six and 33 yards. Chandler scored the final two touchdowns for the Sentinels, running in from the one and breaking a 65-yard run, while finishing with 123 yards.

Charlie Twigg scored first for Fort Hill, running 43 yards for the first points, before Mountain Ridge’s Tyler Redmon tied the score with a 17-yard run. Raley scored the next two touchdowns to make it 20-6, and Chandler increased the lead to 34-6 with the next two.

Austin Trenum threw two touchdown passes in the fourth to pull the Miners closer. Corey Yutzy hauled in a 64-yard pass for six points and Brady Folk’s reception went for 26 yards and the final touchdown of the afternoon. Trenum passed for a total of 112 yards.

Fort Hill (4-3) plays Keyser at home on Monday at 5 p.m.

Northern 34, Keyser 0

ACCIDENT — Aaron Rodeheaver ran wild, finishing with 222 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries as Northern whipped Keyser Monday night at Northern.

The Huskies (7-1) piled up more than 400 yards of total offense and scored in every quarter. Noah Werner ran 11 times for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Kyle Beard had nine carries for 61 yards.

Rodeheaver scored twice in the first quarter, on runs of 4 and 29 yards, as the Huskies built a quick 14-0 lead. Werner’s 12-yard dash made it 21-0 at halftime.

Rodeheaver opened the second-half scoring with a 21-yard run in the third quarter and Werner got the final touchdown with a 14-yard run in the fourth.

Jake Vernon led the Northern defense with eight tackles. Saylor Wampler and Kyle Rouse each had seven tackles and a sack.

Northern is scheduled to play at Moorefield and Keyser visits Fort Hill on Monday.
