CUMBERLAND — Brayden Poling and Luke Hamilton ran for over 100 yards and were also among the leaders on defense as the Personal Best/Hartley’s Patriots remained unbeaten in the Cumberland Area Youth Football League with a 30-6 win over the Miners on Sunday at Allegany College.
Poling had nine carries for 160 yards and scored two touchdowns while Hamilton ran eight times for 105 yards and a score.
Poling had 32- and 42-yard TD runs in the first half, staking the Patriots (5-0) to a 14-0 halftime lead. Nathaniel Graves had a 1-yard plunge in the third to make it 22-0. Hamilton’s touchdown was a 4-yard run in the fourth.
Daniel Bittinger scored for the Miners on a 65-yard pass play from Kaden McElhenny.
Poling, who also kicked two extra-points, Hamilton, Raen Smith and Ethan Bender had seven tackles on defense. The defensive line of Bender, Smith, Holden Sibley, Caleb Harden, Tater Hess and Nathaniel McTaggart were cited for outstanding play as the Patriots did not allow a first down on the day. Eli Hartman intercepted a pass.
McElhenny intercepted a pass and Kristian Robinette was cited for outstanding defensive play for the Miners (1-4).
Karson Robinette had three long runs, one each in the final three quarters, to lead Frostburg to a 24-0 win in the Division II game.
Robinette scored on runs of 35 yards in the second quarer, 50 in the third and 55 in the fourth.
Elisha Llewellyn scored the first touchdown on a 52-yard run in the first quarter.
Defensively, the Miners were led by Hunter Harris, Devin Dinicola and Alex Maddy.
The Patriots listed Braiden Coney and Markell Spencer as standounts.
The Patriots play the Oakland Rams on Saturday, at 7:30 p.m., at Southern High. The Miners will play the Northern Steelers on Sunday, at 2 p.m., at Northern High.

ACCIDENT — Logan Yommer had a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and the Northern Steelers built a 30-0 lead by halftime.
Yommer scored first on a 76-yard run, then tossed a 5-yard pass to Nate Durst later in the quarter. Austin Evans kicked the extra point on both scores, giving the Steelers a 16-0 lead after the first.
Devin Wilhelm scored on a 13-yard run in the second quarter and Evans, who converted 4-of-5 kicks on the day, added a 44-yard touchdown run before halftime.
Following a scoreless third, Nick Wilson threw a 19-yard touchdown to Seth Guillory for Morgantown.
Caleb Broadwater finished the scoring by going 36 yards on a run later in the fourth.
Keegan Broadwater intercepted a pass to lead the Steelers defense. Tristen Hobell had a fumble recovery.
The Steelers (3-2) will host the Frostburg Miners on Sunday at 2 p.m. Morgantown also plays on Sunday, at Keyser.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Matt Liller ran for one touchdown and caught two touchdown passes in leading the Keyser Steelers to a shutout of Braddock at Alumni Field at Tornado Alley.
Liller finished with 51 yards rushing and 69 receiving. He scored on a 5-yard run, and had 40- and 5-yard touchdown receptions on passes by Cam White. White completed 5 of 12 passes for 103 yards.
Tyrell Bush scored on a 10-yard run for the Steelers and finished with 85 yards on 10 carries. Andrew Liller scored from a yard out in the fourth.
Keyser (4-1) hosts Morgantown on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Divsion II team will play the Special Olympics flag football team in an exhibition.
