Link, Lawrence teams tie for Seniors' title at Valley View

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Carroll Link, Jim Hardy, Dennis Rude and Jim Michael tied for first at 13-under-par as a record 64 members competed for the Valley View Senior Golf League Wednesday.
Club pro Dick Riggleman's team of Gerry Lawrence, John Bresland, Al Eichman, and Gene Dellinger also finished first at 13-under-par.
Two teams also tied for second place in the modified scramble format with Mike Cost, Richard Eye, Dennie Dunlap, Jim Casto, and Carlton Saville matching Steve Moore, Ron Wolford, Dwane Barr, and George Evans at 11 under.
Yet another tie at third place saw Gary Crane, Howard Krauskopf, Dane Biller, Louis Peck, and Jerry Crites share 10-under-par with Glen Spaid, Ed Piotrowski, Roger Crites, and Tom Fraley.
Jim Michael hit a hole-in-one on No. 13.
Other pin winners were Jim Casto, Hurley Reedy, Cecil Roth, and Glen Spaid.
The league meets every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. for registration followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
