KEYSER, W.Va. - Maverick Nelson knocked in three runs, and threw five strong innings to get the win in leading Keyser over Tucker County at John Kruk Field.
Nelson allowed three hits and posted six strikeouts in five innings of work. At the plate, he singled twice to account for his three RBIs.
Cory Proietti had a single and two RBIs, Tyler Logsdon added an RBI double, while Tommy Stark and Scott Smith had one single and an RBI.
Smith relieved Nelson in the sixth and struck out three.
The Golden Tornado (3-2) blew the game open by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the sixth frame.
Brandon Miller had two hits for Tucker.
Keyser will play at Petersburg at 5:30 on Friday.
