Allegany defeats Fort Hill, 13-9
Alco finishes 4-0 in City League

CUMBERLAND - Allegany broke a 8-8 tie with five runs in the top of the 10th inning and secured a 4-0 record in the City by beating Fort Hill, 13-9, in a wild high school baseball game Wednesday at Legion Field.
The teams combined for a total of 22 runs, 37 hits and 11 errors as Allegany swept the season series with the Sentinels. The Campers beat the Sentinels 9-6 on April 18.
Both teams finished their regular seasons on Wednesday. Allegany was seeded seventh and will host Poolesville on Friday. Fort Hill drew the fifth seed and will host Smithsburg on Friday.
Sean Collette delivered for Allegany with five hits, including a solo home run in the fourth, a double and three runs batted in. Brennan Connelley hit four singles, scored three runs and drove in another. Cody Ellsworth also had four hits, with a double and three singles to go with three RBIs.
Starting pitcher Chris Wilson hit a double and a single, and Derek Barb, his batterymate, hit a pair of singles.
Fort Hill collected four hits and two RBIs from Shane Malloy. One of Malloy's hits was a double, and Jesse Robinson finished with three hits and three RBIs. Zack Bible, Scott Rice and Zach Ward all had two singles.
Fort Hill concludes the regular season 5-9 overall, 4-6 in the Appalachian Mountain Conference and 0-4 in the City. Allegany finishes 10-6 overall, 8-4 in the AMAC and 4-0 in City.
