Wolford tosses BW past Northern

ACCIDENT - Rochelle Wolford collected the win by holding Northern to three hits Wednesday in a 10-4 Bishop Walsh win.

The teams have played twice in a row with Bishop Walsh winning a May 3 contest 6-4.

The Spartans, who finished with eight hits of their own, were led at the plate by Abbey Mathews triple, double and two RBIs. Taylor Butts had an RBI double, and Claire Nolan had three singles and two RBIs. Anne Mathews finished by hitting a double, single and two runs scored.

Mandi Fazenbaker had two of the Huskies' three hits with a pair of singles.

Northern won the jayvee game 19-4.

Bishop Walsh improves to 8-10 with the win while Northern falls to 2-15.
