HYNDMAN, Pa. - Mike Godissart hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and Chestnut Ridge held off a late Hyndman rally.
Godissart's homer helped spur a five-run inning and gave Chestnut Ridge an 8-2 lead. Wes Stoudnour worked out of trouble in the final three innings to slow a Hornets rally. Hyndman outhit Chestnut Ridge 14-9.
Drew Manges went 3-for-4 with a double and two singles, and Luke Wiley had two singles and an RBI for Chestnut Ridge.
Hyndman was led by Josh Stair's 4-for-4 performance. He had a double and a run batted in to go with three singles. Jeff Crosten had three singles, and Kyle Bishop had two singles and a two-run triple. Bobby Deneen added a pair of singles.
Bishop's two-run triple came in the bottom of the seventh and got Hyndman to within 9-7. The Hornets got another runner on base, but both were left standed.
Hyndman (5-12) hosts Southern Fulton today at 4:30.
