Rohrs, Walker on all-academic team

Sumer Rohrs and Blake Walker were selected the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Academic Faculty Representative Award winners on Thursday.

The all-academic team consists of one male and one female student-athlete from each of the 10 schools in the conference. Honorees are selected by their respective schools.

Rohrs, a junior and FSU’s Female Athlete of the Year, repeated as the Division III 55-meter hurdle indoor national champion and earned All-American honors in the event for the third year in a row. She was the Mason-Dixon Conference’s Most Outstanding Track Athlete in the indoor and outdoor championship meets, and set indoor records for the 55-meter hurdles at the ECAC and NCAA championships. She holds the FSU school record at 7.96.

Rohrs has a 3.58 grade-point average in psychology and has been on the Dean’s List the last four semesters.

Walker, a freshman and former standout at Northern Garrett High, completed his first season with the men’s basketball team, helping Frostburg State to nine wins, including and 8-2 home record. Walkers started in 13 of the final 14 games and averaged 3.6 points per game.

Walker has a 3.75 grade-point average in business administration and is a three-time Dean’s List representative. He also was selected to the AMCC All-Academic Team and the All-Conference Winter Sportsmanship Team.
