Casselman holds off American Legion, 18-17

Casselman Valley scored 11 runs in the second inning to build a 12-0 lead and held on to beat the American Legion 18-17 in Rec Baseball League action on Wednesday at Donahue Field.

Justin Rosenberger ripped a triple and single to lead Casselman Valley’s 12-hit attack and had two RBIs. Winning-pitcher James Baer, Ryan Finzel, and Teddy Linton contributed two singles each, Richard Vogt hit a three-run single, and Aaron Beiler sent in two runs with a base hit.

Brandon House hammered a homer, double and single to power the Legion’s 19-hit attack and drove in three runs. J.R. Shuck stroked two doubles and a single, and Kody Boyer added three singles.

Casselman Valley (5-5) will play Fort Ashby VFW on Monday at 7 p.m. in Salisbury. American Legion will host Barrelville Outdoor Club on Monday at Donahue Field.
