Adam Stowell leads D&D to 4-3 victory

POTOMAC PARK - D&D Homes broke a tie on Adam Stowell fielder's choice in the top of the seventh, and Stowell escaped a bases-loaded jam in the bottom half to give D&D a 4-3 win in the opening game of the second round playoff series against Stewart, Barr and Thorne.

D&D (16-4) takes a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-three series, with game two coming Wednesday at Holler Field. D&D beat Culver Design in three games in its first round series. SB&T was inactive with a first-round bye.

Stowell, who finished with a double as his only hit, drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh after SB&T scored twice in the sixth to tie the game at three.

Justin Shaw had three of D&D's four hits with a double and a pair of singles.

C. Reed had a double and a run scoring single for Stewart, Barr and Thorne. L. Mongold doubled.

SB&T loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, but Stowell got the last of nine combined strikeouts to get out of the situation.

Reed have seven strikeouts in a complete game loss.
