Times-News whips Barrelville, 17-2

MOUNT SAVAGE - Times-News scored 17 runs on 19 hits in five innings as it peppered Barrelville Outdoor Club Monday evening at Dickel Field.

Times-News took advantage of a Barrelville team that was playing with only eight players by scoring seven runs in each of the first two innings. It scored one run in the third and got the final two in the fourth. Barrelville scored its two runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Zach Ward led Times-News with four hits - two triples, a double and a single - for nine total bases. Jacob Foreman doubled twice and added a single, while Jared Bittner and Nick Corbett finished with two singles apiece. Forhest Crass hit a double and a single, winning pitcher Eric Weaver tripled and Tristen Beyer doubled.

Garritt Dickel had both of Barrelville's two hits with a triple and a single.

Times-News (5-10-1) will play WEPCO at home on Thursday. Barrelville will play Casselman Valley Wednesday in Salisbury.
