Logsdon sparks Hyndman in opener

HYNDMAN, Pa. — Nathan Bingman scored three goals, and the Hyndman defense shut out Bishop Walsh for a 5-0 season-opening win in a Pennsylvania-Maryland Bi-State League boys soccer match Friday evening.

Bingman scored both first-half goals, with both coming in the first 20 minutes on assists from John Logsdon.

Casey Shoemaker made it 3-0 with an unassisted goal with 27:58 left in the second half. Bingman scored again, unassisted, five minutes later. Logan Sheldon got the final goal, unassisted, with 12:30 to go.

Hyndman outshot the Bishop Walsh 25-16. BW led in corner kicks, 2-1.

Tyler Jameson had 10 saves in getting the shutout as Hyndman’s goalie. Brandon Kimble made 20 saves for the Spartans.

Hyndman plays Wednesday at Forbes Road. The Spartans (1-1) visit Keyser on Tuesday.
