Mountain Ridge, Hampshire split meet

Binotto, McBride individual winners

FROSTBURG — Mountain Ridge finished first in the team standings in the boys meet, while the Hampshire girls finished atop the team standings during high school cross country action Tuesday at Parris Glendening Park.

The Mountain Ridge boys finished first with 31 points, followed by Hampshire with 33 and Frankfort with 73. Bishop Walsh also ran but did not have a team score. In the girls meet, Hampshire won with 21 points, followed by Frankfort with 44 and Mountain Ridge with 70.

Hampshire’s John Paul Binotto won the boys race, covering the 5K course in 17:52, while Frankfort’s Rebekah McBride won the girls race in 21:17.

Frankfort’s Johnny Macklen was second behind Binotto in the boys race at 18:27, followed by Mountain Ridge’s Josh Shuck (18:31), Hampshire’s Nathan Whitacre (18:36) and Mountain Ridge’s Chuckie Upperman (18:55).

Runners finishing in the second five were Mountain Ridge’s George Hansrote (18:55) and Chris DeRosa (19:01), Hampshire’s Tim Loughran (19:08) and Adam Hoke (19:37), and Mountain Ridge’s Dakota Bradley (19:52).

Finishing second behind McBride in the girls race was Danielle Lewis of Hampshire (21:43), followed by Hampshire’s Carrisa Guyer (21:58), Rana Conneway (22:17) and Autumn Chaney (22:30).

The second five were Frankfort’s Brittany Armentrout (22:41), Hampshire’s Sarah Burkett (22:43) and Melanie Denton (22:25), Mountain Ridge’s Sierra Wassell (23:48) and Hampshire’s Rebekah Lewis (24:10).
