Volleyball: Frostburg State, Allegany score wins

FROSTBURG - Frostburg State ended a two-game skid with a 3-0 shutout of La Roche in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference volleyball match on Wednesday.

The win keeps the Bobcats unbeaten in conference play at 4-0. They are 14-9 overall. LaRoche fell to 2-18 and 0-5.

FSU won by scores of 30-22, 30-22 and 30-25.

Brooke Winterling led the way with 16 kills, followed by Sarah Stephens with 13 and Jamie Thomas with eight. Thomas also had five service aces and Winterling had three. Jenny Wheaton had 33 assists and Rachel Burke seven digs.

FSU will host Penn State Behrend at 11 a.m. and Catholic University at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bobcat Arena.
