Harford 2, Allegany 1

BEL AIR — Allegany College of Maryland had the Harford Fighting Owls fighting backwards in the second half, but couldn’t get enough shots in a loss Saturday afternoon.

Steve Landreth and Brian Young scored in the first half as Harford built a 2-0 lead.

Marcus Kendall scored his first collegiate goal in the second half on an assist from Lucas Knotts. Kendall and Knotts played together at Calvary Christian Academy.

“We had them on their heels the whole second half,” said ACM coach Keith Eshleman. “We had some trouble getting enough shots off, and just didn’t take advantage of our opportunities.”

Trojans goalie Mike Edwards made 11 saves, while Brian Dize had two for the Owls.

Allegany is 3-7-1 with all of its games coming against Maryland JUCO teams. Montgomery Rockville hosts the Trojans Tuesday at 4 p.m.
