Second season continues

Mtn. Ridge hosts pair, Greenway home to three games

CUMBERLAND — Top-seeded Mountain Ridge hosts a doubleheader while Greenway Avenue Stadium will be the site of a tripleheader of Class 1A West soccer quarterfinal playoff games tonight.

At Mountain Ridge, the Miners boys and girls play Smithsburg. Both Mountain Ridge teams are the No. 1 seeds in their respective tournaments. The girls game kicks off at 6 p.m. and the boys will begin at 8.

At Greenway Avenue Stadium, the tripleheader begins with third-seeded Fort Hill taking on Boonsboro at 3:30.

The other two games at Greenway are boys games. Fifth-seeded Northern plays No. 4 Allegany at 5:30, and No. 3 Fort Hill takes on No. 6 Boonsboro at 7:30.

In the other quarterfinals involving area teams, Allegany is at fourth-seeded Southern, and Williamsport will be at second-seeded Northern in six o’clock meetings.
