CUMBERLAND — Lois Kathryn (Wood) Gulick, 82, of Cumberland, went to be with The Lord on Monday, May 15, 2006, at her residence.

Born Dec. 24, 1923, in Tunnelton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Harrison Wood and Iva Marie (Nine) Wood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Gulick Sr. Upon his death, she assumed ownership of Gulick’s Auto Exchange.

One son, Joseph Edward Gulick; and two sisters, Loretta Saurborn and Iva “Toots” Brown also preceded him in death.

Mrs. Gulick was a member of the First Church of God, where she sang in the choir and had served on the church board.

She enjoyed her garden, raising both vegetables and flowers.

Survivors include her two daughters, Marlynn Sue Wallace, Norfolk, Va., and Susan Ann Yurkovich and husband Ed, Edgewater; one son, William Edward Gulick Jr., Ridgeley, W.Va.; one brother, Clifford Harrison “Bud” Wood, Morgantown; one sister, Virginia Stump, Morgantown; six grandchildren, Richard Scott Shaffer and wife Becky, Beacon, N.Y., Teresa Sue Carter and husband Bobby, Woodstock, Ga., Robert Shawn Shaffer, Norfolk, Rodney Steven Shaffer, Virginia Beach, Va., Kelly Lynn Gulick and husband Brian Lechliter, Cumberland and Kristin Lauren Gulick, Ridgeley; seven great-grandsons; and one great-great-grandson.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Diane Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial park.
