Louise Glick Foley, 80, a former resident of Cumberland, died May 17, at the Maple Ridge Group Home, Rockville, of complications from dementia.

She attended Ursuline Academy and subsequently studied at Notre Dame College in Baltimore, where she received a degree in chemistry. She was employed by Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where she met her husband, Walter J. Foley.

Louise was an avid golfer. At one point during her high school years, she played a round with Babe Didrikson Zaharias at the Cumberland Country Club where Babe was visiting.

Her husband died in 1975, and a son, Patrick died in 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Foley; a son-in-law, Stephen Shuey; a brother, John Glick; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Grace Church, Silver Spring, on Monday, May 22, at 10 a.m.

Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring.

Donations may be sent to Bishop Walsh High School, Cumberland.
