Prince George's pulls plug on AC, 87-77

UPPER MARLBORO - Allegany College of Maryland held a 14-point lead at one point in the first half, but Prince George's crashed the boards on its way to a come-from-behind Maryland JUCO Conference win.

The Owls began their comeback late in the first half, and cut the Trojans lead from 14 to four by the end of the half. ACM allowed 25 points in the first five minutes of the second half.

Kevin Baker scored a game-high 18 points for the Owls. Eric Van added 18 points and Robert Spencer 10.

"We jumped out to an early lead but had three straight turnovers and stopped playing hard at that point," said Allegany coach Mike Baker. "PG attacked the offensive boards without us getting much of a body on them, and that was the difference."

Ru White led the Trojans by scoring 21 points, and Calvin Lee had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tarelle Jackson added 16 points.

With the loss ACM falls to 8-11 overall and to 8-4 in the Maryland JUCO. The Trojans play again Friday, at 7 p.m., at Chesapeake.
