Taylor leads Garrett to 85-66 win

MCHENRY - Garrett College sped to a 30-6 lead over Pitt-Titusville, and behind a solid all-around performance from Dale Taylor, the Lakers finished Monday evening with an 85-66 win, their first at home.

Taylor scored only 10 points, but added seven rebounds, five assists and three steals to help lead the Lakers.

"Dale played an exceptional game. He was extremely unselfish, and it was one of the best performances we've had in the young season," said Garrett head coach Dennis Gibson.

Shawn Greenfield led the Lakers with 14 points, and Glenn Izevbigie had a double-double with 12 rebounds and 11 points. Reco Siler scored nine points and Vladimir Nikolov added eight. Joe Tressler, a Southern High School graduate, also scored eight points.

"We were coming off two tough losses where we thought we should have won both, but didn't play good enough to win. Today, the guys came ready to win."

Mike Douglas scored 15 points, and Aron Dewberry had 13 for Titusville.

Garrett (4-2) plays at Westmoreland Community College on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
