Germantown stuns Allegany, 78-71

CUMBERLAND - Allegany College followed up its first victory of the season Saturday by playing what head coach Mike Baker called "probably about as poor of a game played at Allegany College" in a 78-71 loss to Montgomery-Germantown Tuesday at Bob Kirk Arena.

"Not taking anything away from Germantown," Baker said, "but we turned the ball over twice as many times as we should have, and we were able to score by getting the ball inside, but kept going away from it."

George DeGroat recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Former Bishop Walsh standout Nathan Herriott scored a game-high 20 points, and Calvin Lee added 10 points.

Tariq Uqdah and Nicholas Secfcik scored 13 points for Germantown.

"We just have to get back into the gym and get working for the tournament this weekend in Hagerstown," said Baker.

The Trojans, 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the Maryland JUCO Conference, will play Globe (N.Y.) at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the Hagerstown Thanksgiving Classic. On Sunday, they will take on Monroe (N.Y.) at 1 p.m.
