Comeback sinks Allegany, 60-54

HAGERSTOWN - Tyvon Williams led three players in double figures and scored 10 of his 22 points in the second half to help No. 5 Monroe (N.Y.) College to come from behind to defeat Allegany College of Maryland 60-54 Sunday afternoon.

Allegany led 27-19 in the first game of the second day of the Hagerstown Thanksgiving Classic. Hagerstown played Globe Institute in the second game.

Williams hit two of his four three pointers in the second half to help Monroe outscore the Trojans 41-27 after halftime.

"For three quarters of the game I thought we played very well," said Allegany head coach Mike Baker. "Defensively, our zone gave them problems. We just needed to find a way to finish it."

George DeGroat led the Trojans with 13 points on five baskets and going 3 of 4 from the line. T.J. Granger finished with 11 points and Terrence Green and Calvin Lee each had eight. Ru White scored seven.

Westley Perryman added 14 for Monroe and Lester Hunte had 13.

Led led the Trojans with nine rebounds and Ryan Burts had five assists.

Allegany (1-5) is at Montgomery-Rockville Wednesday night.
