DeGroat, Lee lead ACM over Rockvile

ROCKVILLE - George DeGroat and Calvin Lee combined for 40 points and 24 rebounds to power Allegany College to an 83-63 blowout of Montgomery-Rockville in a Maryland JUCO Conference game Wednesday evening.

DeGroat had a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Lee added 17 points, 12 boards and three blocked shots to help the Trojans stop a three-game skid and improve to 2-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

"It was nice to get back on the right track,'' said Allegany College head coach Mike Baker. "I thought everybody contributed tonight. We played pretty good defensively, and hopefully we can build some momentum with four league games in a row."

The Trojans opened the game with a 10-0 spurt and never trailed. They led 36-23 at the half.

Ru White added nine points and Tarrelle Jackson and T.J. Granger had eight for AC, which plays at Catonsville in a conference game on Friday at 8 o'clock.

Dante Nicholas had 17 points and Darren Ball 16 for Montgomery-Rockville, now 5-2 overall.
