Garrett's second half leads to 86-63 victory over W.Va. Wesleyan

MCHENRY - Garrett shook off a slow start by scoring 51 points in the second half in an 86-63 victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on the first day of the Railey Realty Holiday Hoopfest.

Mark Smith scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Dale Taylor also had 13 points for Garrett.

Shawn Greenfield, Myron McGowan hand C.J. Glen had nine points, with Greenfield also getting three assists and three steals for the Lakers (9-3). Glen Izevbigie had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan Watson had a game-high 14 points, Joe Sasser 12 and Zach Crawford 11 for the West Virginia Wesleyan jayvees.

Wesleyan led 15-8 in the first half when Smith and Glen came off the bench to provide a big spark Garrett. The Lakers outscored the Bobcats 27-10 the rest of the half and led 35-25 at the break.

All 11 players scored for Garrett, which had nine three-point goals.
