CUMBERLAND - Mark T. Kunkle, 36, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, May 2, 2008, at his residence.
Born May 17, 1971, in Cumberland, he was the son of Mary E. Kunkle, Cresaptown and the late John L. Kunkle. He was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles.
Mark was a former employee of Fox's and Hartley's Pizza. He also was employed by Allegany Technologies and was an apprentice for Local Post 489 Pipefitters in Cumberland. He was a 1989 graduate of Allegany High School, where he was a member of the band. He received his Associate's degree in electronics from Allegany College of Maryland.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his sister, Joan E. Montoya and husband Craig; a nephew, Ryan Motoya; a niece Torre Montoya, all of Smithsburg; his uncle Roger Kunkle and wife Judy, of Rawlings; three aunts, Betty Clarke, of Lewisville, Ohio, Alice Rizer, of Hyndman, Pa., and a special aunt, Shirley Baker, of Cresaptown. Mark also leaves behind many special friends.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., McMullen Highway, Cresaptown (scarpellifh.com), on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Dietz officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
