CUMBERLAND — Ramona Mae Harvey Davis, 91, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, at the WMHS-Braddock Campus. She was at the Lions Center Extended Care Nursing Home for the past two years.
Born July 28, 1917, in Cassidy, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arnsley B. and Lena Grace Reeder. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lester W. Harvey and her second husband, Milford E. Davis; one daughter, Shirley G. Squires; and one grandson, James R. Squires; four brothers, Cecil Reeder, Lester Reeder, Glendal Reeder and Virgil Reeder; and three sisters, Charm Tenney, Louise Childers and Lorena Campbell.
Ramona was retired from Memorial Hospital after 25 years. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star; was an active member of the Moose, the VFW and the Elks. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte J. McCullough and husband Robert, of Carpendale, W.Va. and Thelma Mullan-DeLawder and husband Anthony, of Myersville; one sister, Thelma Chewning and husband Sonny, of Franklin, Ohio; son-in-law, Dick Squires, of Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Robert L. McCullough and his wife Deborah, of Ridgeley, W.Va., Jeffrey A. McCullough and wife Lori, of Mount Savage, Nancy Clifford, of Beltsville, Lisa A. Castleman and husband Nathan, of Cumberland, Jamie M. Geohringer, of Cumberland, Jennifer L. Long and husband Edward, of Keyser, W.Va. and Julie Squires, of Hyndman, Pa.; nineteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Edward Davis, of Virginia, William Davis, of Virginia, and Lynn Davis, of California, and a special pet dog, Susie Mae.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, scarpellifuneralhomes.com on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark C. Dill officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
A special thanks to the Lions Center and 5 North at the Braddock Campus for the great care given to mother and the special attention to the family.
