CUMBERLAND — Seven tri-state area residents are among recipients of scholarships for study at Allegany College of Maryland in the current academic year, the ACM Foundation announced.
Danita Burkett of Corriganville was awarded the Allegany County Teachers Federal Credit Union Paul L. Footen Memorial Scholarship and the Cumberland Valley Optimist Dedicated to Mildred George Scholarship. She is an early childhood education major and a 2017 graduate of Lighthouse Christian Academy.
Kaylee Emerick of Hyndman, Pennsylvania, earned The Hiester Scholarship and the Drs. Donald and Alice Alexander Scholarship. She is a dental hygiene major and a 2014 graduate of Hope for Hyndman Charter School.
Destinee Frankenberry of Cumberland received the South Cumberland Business and Civic Association, Bishop Walsh High School Scholarship and the J. Jeffrey Hutter Sr. Memorial Scholarship. A 2009 graduate of Bishop Walsh, she is a business administration major.
Madison Green of Lonaconing was awarded the Charles E. Kolb and Doris H. Kolb Scholarship and the Iron Furnace 5K Run Scholarship. She is a nursing major and a 2014 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School.
Claudia Pryor of Cumberland was awarded the Rhoda Barton Memorial Nursing Scholarship and the Walter J. and Grace H. Maxey Scholarship. A nursing major, she is a 2015 graduate of Allegany High School.
Jennifer Riley of Cumberland received the Bernice and Arthur Friedland Scholarship and the Iris Halmos Community Investment Scholarship. She is a nursing major and a 1991 graduate of Hyndman High School and 1993 graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Mandi Wilt of Keyser, West Virginia, received the James E. Mellon Scholarship and the Rolyan Scholarship. A nursing major, Wilt attended Keyser High School, completing her secondary education in 2001.
