FROSTBURG — A Frostburg woman died Friday of injuries that she suffered in a fire in her mobile home Wednesday night on Green Street.
Patsy E. Porter, 65, died Friday at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center where she was admitted following the fire at 56 Green St. that occurred at 10 p.m.Wednesday.
Glenn Porter, 62, and Maria Porter, 52, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Nearly 50 volunteer firefighters from Frostburg and allied companies responded to the fire that consumed the Porter residence and damaged two adjacent mobile homes
The occupants were alerted to the fire by working smoke alarms.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.
Saturday, the fire marshal’s office responded to a structure fire at 201 Main St. in Grantsville where first-arriving firefighters found “smoke showing,” according to the Garrett County 911 center.
Grantsville, Eastern Garrett and Salisbury volunteer firefighters responded to the 4 p.m., incident along with Northern Garrett Rescue Squad.
A short time earlier, Garrett County volunteer firefighters responded to a “working fire” at 181 High Point Drive in Sky Valley at Swanton, according to the Garrett 911 center.
Deer Park, Bittinger, Deep Creek and Oakland volunteer fire departments were alerted at 3:49 p.m., along with the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.
