HAYMARKET, Va. — Two lifelong friends and fellow 1996 Fort Hill High School graduates have joined forces to make sure students in one Virginia school have plenty of good reading material.

Jason Ward, owner/operator of the new Chick-fil-A in Haymarket, presented 200 books to Ryan Sawyers, the elected chairman of the Prince William County School Board.

"The books are going to George Tyler Elementary School in Haymarket," Sawyers said. "They were donated by Chick-fil-A customers and given to the school as part of the Haymarket store's recent grand opening."

Ward also owns and operates the Virginia Gateway Chick-fil-A in Gainesville.

Sawyers owns a sports marketing company. He was elected to the school board chairmanship in November.

The two former Rawlings residents attended Bel Air Elementary and Washington Middle schools before moving on to Fort Hill where they were teammates on the soccer and baseball teams.
