GRANTSVILLE — A Grantsville woman who was injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning on Interstate 68 was taken to the hospital, according to the Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack.
Anita Louise Livengood, 40, was driving a 1999 Ford Escort eastbound at the 24-mile marker at 6:17 a.m. when she was struck from behind by Beth Cole Mckenna, 19, Martinsburg, W.Va., in a Chevrolet S-10 pickup, police said.
Neither Mckenna nor Livengood’s passenger, Sarah Ann Livengood, 19, of Grantsville was injured, police said. Northern Garrett Rescue Squad transported Anita Livengood to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, according to the Garrett County Division of Communications.
Mckenna was attempting to make a lane change and was charged with negligent driving, police said. Both vehicles went out of control in the rain and had to be towed.
Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
