Get a lifetime W.Va. DNR identification number before hunting
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources will conduct 12 public meetings across the state to review and receive comments on proposed hunting, trapping and fishing regulations. All meetings take place 6 to 8 p.m.
Meeting locations include:
• Martinsburg - James Rumsey Technical Institute (Cafeteria) on March 13.

• Elkins - DNR Operations Center and Moorefield - South Branch Inn (U.S. Route 220) on March 14.

Hunters, trappers, anglers, landowners and other interested parties will have an opportunity to comment about proposed 2017 hunting regulations for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, black bear and boar, proposed 2018 - 2019 general hunting and trapping regulations, and proposed 2018 fishing regulations.

"The public regulations meetings will use an open-house format," said Director Steve McDaniel. "This informal meeting style allows people to attend at their convenience to learn and discuss the proposed regulation changes with personnel from the Wildlife Resources and Law Enforcement Sections, and to comment on the proposed regulations and other wildlife-related issues."

Written comments from the public are encouraged to comment about the proposals. The deadline for submitting written comments is April 3.
