— CUMBERLAND — Ruby Marie (Dice) Roby, 85, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.

Born Oct. 31, 1928, in Davis, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Paul Dice and Grace Virginia (Duling) Dice. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald G. Roby, March 11, 2009; her twin brother, Kenneth Dice; a brother,  Junior Dice; and a great-grandson, Ethan Reuschel.

A graduate of Catherman’s Business School, Mrs. Roby worked in accounting at Montgomery Ward and also in the office at Columbia Gas. Mrs. Roby was a member of Melvin United Methodist Church, where she taught the Young Adult Sunday School Class for numerous years. Ruby’s hobbies included, playing Bunco with her friends and bingo at the Lions Center.

Ruby was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family takes comfort in knowing she is with her husband again.

Mrs. Roby is survived by her daughters, Debra M. Perrin and husband Fred, Flintstone, Patty A. McCormick, Cumberland, and Elaine D. Coakley and husband Joe, of Ohio; her grandsons, Jeff Perrin and wife Jennifer, Scott Perrin and wife Jaime, and Brandon McCormick and wife Sarah; her granddaughters, Molly McCormick, Felicia Stevens, Cecily Jessen, and Christina Stevens; seven great-grandchildren, Elijah Stevens, Jared Carpenter, Jaden Carpenter, Mary Grace McCormick, Emma Perrin, Landon Tyson, and Aleigha Herndon; and a sister-in-law, Helen Dice, Bittinger.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland,  (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating.

Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans’ Cemetery at Rocky Gap.

Pallbearers will be Fred Perrin, Jeff Perrin, Scott Perrin, Brandon McCormick, and Joe Coakley.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to the Lions Center, Residents Fund, 901 Seton Dr., Extended, Cumberland, MD 21502.

The family would like to thank the Lions Center for their compassion and care of their mother for the last 3.5 years.
