LAVALE — Jeaneen Ruth (Hartley) Cage, 82, of LaVale, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born May 20, 1930 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. Hartley Sr. and Blanche (Wilson) Hartley.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton E. “Buddy” Cage; her granddaughter, Alyssia Mary Cage; and her brother, Thomas E. Hartley Jr..

Jeaneen was a 1948 graduate of Allegany High School, a member of the LaVale United Methodist Church and the LaVale United Methodist Women. She worked at the Queen City Dairy Ice Cream Shop, the Allegany County Library and the S & H Green Stamp Store.  She also was a homemaker.

Jeaneen was a kind, loving person and had too many good friends to list. She was a great influence on her children and grandchildren and touched many lives.

Surviving is her daughter, Cindy L. Rayburn and husband Bob, West Palm Beach, Fla.; her son, Craig T. Cage and wife Bette, Cumberland; two grandchildren, Kai T. Keckley and wife Cortney, Hephzibah, Ga. and Tyler A. Cage, Cumberland; her step-grandchildren, Randy P. Means and John E. Means, both of Cumberland; her great-grandchild, Alayna Lesniowski; and her sister, Doris Lookabaugh, Pleasant Valley, N.Y.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, ( Friday, April 19, 2013 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
