ROMNEY, W.Va. — Christopher Scott Malcolm, 50, of Romney, W.Va., died on May 25, 2013 at home.
He was born Sept. 26, 1962, in Romney, W.Va., to the late Willard and Linda Malcolm.
He was preceeded in death by a brother, Michael E. Willard.
Chris was born in Romney and lived his entire life there and Ft. Ashby. He had tremendous carpentry skills and built many structures in Hampshire and Mineral Counties. As a young man, Chris loved sports, softball in particular. As time marched on, Chris developed an interest in shooting pool and hanging out at the river with friends (when weather permitted). In later years, his interests in sports changed from being that of a participant, to that of being a spectator in a more social environment.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashton Gabrielle Malcolm of Ft. Ashby; his brother, Tim S. (wife Amy) Malcolm of Romney; his granddaughter, Emersyn Malcolm; and two aunts, Debbie Davis of Romney and Susie Clower of Romney.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney, followed by a gathering at 6 p.m. at the VFW in Ft. Ashby. The gathering will be to celebrate Chris’ life. Words of remembrance will be at 7 p.m.
The interment will be private.
