SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. — William Carr Jr., 81, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1932 in Moorefield, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Carr Sr. and Eula (Gillespie) Carr.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (Perry) Carr; one son, William Keith Carr; a granddaughter, Jill M. Carr; and a sister, Virginia.
Mr. Carr was retired from Kaiser Aluminum, Baltimore, where he was a crane operator.
Survivors include his six children, Venus Gail Blizzard, Grace M. “Bunny” Miller, Janet L. Icenroad, Gary D. Carr, Shirley Joanie Herrick, and Diane C. Rojas; 12 grandchildren, Robert D. Dunkerly, April B. Blizzard, Kelly A. Carr, Steven L. Carr, Lindsey M. Miller, Logan C. Miller, Bryan J. Garrett, Kyle M. Icenroad, Cheryl Carr, Jordan T. Herrick, Chelsea L. Herrick, and Dylan M. Hayes; seven great-grandchildren, Veronica L. Blizzard, Tristin M. Blizzard, Kiara P. Conners, Isabella M. Wegman, Calista Garrett, Alexander Garrett, and Ella Lopez; and three sisters, Elsie Cook, Linda Carr, and Ethel Keplinger.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, W.Va., on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
