ANNA M. FRASER [Keyser, W.Va.]

KEYSER, W.Va. — Anna Mae Fraser, 99, of Keyser, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 at Heartland of Keyser with her family at her bedside. Mrs. Fraser wintered in Lakeport, Fla. for 30 years and summer home in Springfield, W.Va.

Born on December 2, 1914, in Keyser, she was a daughter of the late Parley and Katherine (Pysell) Diehl. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, John H. Fraser Sr. on Aug. 24, 2007; two brothers, William and Robert Diehl; and three sisters, Sadie Maine, Marie Moore and Dorothy “Deanie” Hoover. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Fraser was a graduate of Keyser High School and a homemaker. She was the oldest member of Keyser Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, Alkire Chapter 10, OES, International Transportation Union Auxiliary. She organized and chaired the Exuberant Eighth Club at the Keyser High Rise. Anna Mae enjoyed fishing and boating with her husband, John, until his death, and traveled nationally and internationally and was a talented decorator.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Nicol of Keyser; her son, John H. Fraser Jr. and wife Mary Ellen of Powell, Wyo.; a grandson, John H. Fraser III and wife, Regina of Lucerne, Switzerland; two granddaughters, Sally Brown of Middletown and Nancy Mason of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and three great-grandsons, Fraser A. Brown, Graham Brown and Myles Mason.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.  

Services will be held at the Keyser Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Mineral Street, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 with the the Rev. Karen J. Long officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will follow in Queen’s Point Cemetery, Keyser.
